the story behind the complete you

For the last 10 years I have worked in an office as I could no longer continue with mobile Hair & Beauty following the birth of my first child, when maternity ended it was the easiest option to work in the family business. Although I have kept my hand in over the years with family and friends, ever since I have been looking for an opening to be able to use my knowledge from all my training on a part-time basis and, 6 years ago, signed up as a community leader on a couple of message boards giving advice to others. At that time I also looked into creating a web site with all the usual information that people were asking for on the boards, I didn’t have the skills to be able to do this.

After an extremely stressful 18 months (well probably longer due to being a mum, partner/wife, running a home and working part-time then full-time), I really needed some time out and booked my Mum and myself into a Beauty Salon. We were on the verge of being made redundant, also my husband, so things were looking bleak and didn’t know what we were going to do next.

It’s always easier taking someone along as it can be quite daunting walking into a Beauty Salon, even for someone with all the training who knows what to expect – Beauty Salons more so than Hairdressers. My mum had a manicure and I had a one hour massage. The treatment room took me back to the days when I worked on cruise ships, with the low lighting, candles, soft relaxing mood music and the aroma of essential oils reminding me how I enjoyed working in such an environment with less stress!

The massage made me feel wonderful and I came out feeling really positive and decided to take the redundancy as an opportunity to do what I always thought about doing, I also decided to promote others like myself, advertising their skills to give you a full service of everything available in West Yorkshire. My office job expanded my experience in Sales & Marketing as well as improving my IT skills and giving me the knowledge designing, editing and promoting an evolving web site for the business. I have also started up again as Hair & Beauty Mobile by Louise!

Advertising Others

It may seem strange that I am wanting to advertise the ‘competition’ in such a competative industry, however, I believe that choice is a wonderful thing! There are so many treatments and we don't all do the same, many have undergone additional training in more specialised treatments such as air-brush sunless tanning, red vein therapy, reflexology and many more, it really depends on what you are looking for. A list of Hairdressing Salons, Mobile Hairdressers, Beauty Salons, Mobile Beauty Therapists and Alternative Therapy Clinics and Practitioners can be found on the page Find Someone In Your Area.

The advertising on this site is specifically for mobile practitioners and smaller salons who wouldn't normally be found and who can't afford the expensive costs of advertising in order to promote themselves. With the revenue from paid advertising larger adverts can be placed in magazines and throughout the internet promoting on a wider scale.
